We have received so many comments from happy Pearl People (people who own
A Texas owner wrote to says her 18 month old
definitely thinks "he's part human!" Her "Pearl"
is particularly fond of her husband.
He'll go out in the field and the yearling follows him everywhere. He will start "cantering" around the field with the colt behind him even over small fences. He loves to jump. And a Wisconsin owner is very pleased with her 6 month old filly. "She is turned out in the front yard (which is about an acre). The children also play out in the yard -- they play soccer, fly kites, do all sorts of kid stuff. The only thing the filly objects to is when the kids use her legs as goal posts! I guess even "Pearls" have limits!" From Tanya in Pennsylvania: "Just a quick note about Shamus Carrigan, foaled 4-29-04 out of our Clyde mare, Isabelle. He is wonderful, kind and very gentle. He is almost 16 hands and at just over a year old he trailers, clips, bathes, and does just about everything you ask of him. He has been a joy to own and he looks like he will become the large hunter my husband needs. Thanks for everything." My yearling Mountain Pearl filly is wonderful. She is named "Mountain Belle" and is the most level-headed baby -and I have had TB, warmblood and draft crosses- she is the easiest. I groomed her in the aisle for the first time and she didn't even mind the vacuum. She had her first shots in the pasture-the vet was very impressed! I can't wait to see what I get this year. Piper is not fazed by anything. She loves attention, gives kisses and knows how to bow. She walks next to me at night in the dark, will stop when I do. She also does the more mundane stuff, leads, loves splashing in water, great for the farrier, easy to load, clips, blankets don't bother her, and a light saddle only produced a ho hum from her. We're eagerly awaiting her full sister in June! MP is a star! Iowa I cannot say enough good words about Rooney. I went out to the frozen, rutted pasture to bring him in for his supplements. On the way back out it was pitch back and I could not see anything but the white fence along the side of the alleyway. He was so good just walking along slowly with me and waiting when I stepped into a deep rut! I praised him and told him he was mature enough to be considered twice as old as he is. You make great babies. Iowa I just love her -- she is so sensible -- the day this picture was taken the wind blew and it was 15 degrees. She only tried to eat the green tulle! ... I am looking forward to my second Mountain Pearl .. due 5/23! Illinois He seems to have adjusted well in a short time and has developed quite a confident attitude overall. In his stall, we can barely get the fresh shavings down before he starts rolling around in them - it's quite comical to watch. He has been great with the dogs, although they aren't quite sure what to make of him, but he has been patient with letting them adjust to him. He's had no issues with noises so far - Jason was drilling and hammering in the barn almost right next to his stall, and Evan didn't even wince. He was curious, perked his head up and listened, but then went back to eating. He's great, but then, you already knew that! He's going to be a fast learner, and it will be a challenge to keep him from getting bored. I'll keep you posted on his progress from time to time. Wisconsin We couldn't be happier with this filly. I have told so many people in all of the 25 yrs of breeding to many GOOD stallions, this is our finish foal!!! I did some homework prior to crowwing out of the quarter horse industry, and I am sooooo glad I did. Best decision I have ever made. Illinois Maggie is an elegant Sport Horse filly that captures everyone's eye. With her faultless conformation, strong desire to please, and outstanding disposition she has certainly followed Mountain Pearl's legacy. She defies gravity with her ground covering stride, and her effortless flying lead changes. Just thought I'd let you know. I have been riding Fiona--finally. She is such a doll. Has some spirit but not a mean bone in her body. Anyway -- what a delight ride!!!!!! She is the most smooth horse I have ever ridden!! She covers so much ground with so much grace. Diane, you can see it from the ground watching her ridden. I popped her over some cross rails. She is learning to move forward. Doesn't take much, we have so much ground work with her, she receives the bit without a problem. She doesn't mind my legs, and she is getting the idea of riding from the seat. She is a happy horse and I am a happy horse owner. Florida e-mail Note accompanying
a picture: "Here is Mike, (MP/dutch warmblood
gelding)....... This is his first show and my trainer's daughter
rode him. He did really well and now has his own fan club :) "
North Carolina Now that the weather is cooperating, we can spend plenty of time with her. Lots of lessons - leading all over, stuff on legs, grooming, clippers, other horses working, etc. - and very little naughtiness. Just enough to remind us that she's only a yearling! She's so levelheaded, it's easy to forget her age. Seems to like her new pals and her new chow. And, boy, is she going to be pretty. I have to pinch myself sometimes...can't believe she's ours! Minnesota
Our 2 1/2 yr old stallion BABY!
We've had him since he was weaned. He's perfect in every way. Plays with my
daughters gelding all day long, loves the kids and everyone else who meets
him. He's made quite a bond with me. The first few times on him were with no
bridle, saddle or halter and he was an angel. Now we go for walks in the park
with friends and everyone can hardly believe what a gentleman he is. He calls
for me if we are away from home and I get out of sight. His name is To Be Sure
(Bres) and he will be proudly standing his first season at To Be Sure Farm in
Langley BC Canada. I will be looking forward to riding him to a spectacular
career as a jumper. I'm thoroughly impressed by Mountain Pearl's offspring in
every way, he definitely stamps his foals!
I hope you got my belated Xmas card with the picture of Eamonn. He is doing real good. I love his personality. He is also the only horse that I have ever had that I can call and he actually comes to me. He definitely loves people. Any time I go out in the pasture he comes up to me. He is just sooo nosy! He is a little under 15.3 hands, and about 1100 lbs. He is just such a good guy! I look forward to riding him when the time comes (and that won't be for awhile yet). I saw on your website that his older brother went to Missouri I believe. I hope all is well with your horses. He arrived in style Monday morning and unloaded like a gentleman marched into his stall and took a drink. HE IS WONDERFUL. I rode him today and he is sooooo great. Really quiet and not concerned about other things going on…..My dad is going to take pics Saturday when we go to the trainer's for a lesson and I will send you some of those. Chalk up another very happy Mountain Pearl baby owner! Early is doing fantastic - he and I spend the fall wandering around the farm that he lives on -they have 300 acres with woods, streams, ditches, and an array of deer and scary pheasant. Early took it all in stride. Now that it's colder, we've put ourselves in training with a wonderful dressage trainer. Early is catching on so fast that Pat keeps asking me if he really is just turning four - he really has the head of a 6 or 7 year old. He really has such fantastic rhythm! -- Wisconsin She is so darn sweet and easy it's amazing, considering her hot potato of a mom! -- Michigan Everyone who sees her sees her beauty. She moves so fluently and gracefully.
Her disposition is one other horse owners would love to have their horses have.
She is my pride and joy. Can't wait for the day she becomes famous for her abilities. She shows 'I've got to send a picture. She's lovely with a great personality. I feel like a know Mountain Pearl well, just from his pictures and her. Ohio The boy is doing really well - he truly had *no* adjustment issues. He is
being worked in hand - 2 sessions of 20 to 30 minutes a day. He definitely "Smartest horse he's ever dealt with" -- Wisconsin "I now have a very nice 2-year-old chestnut filly approx 16 hh, a very strong able filly who is so gentle as as a lamb, very easy to manage. I wouldn't mind another like her" -- Ireland It seems that all the breeders I've been researching have Mountain Pearl babies!! (and they all take after their dad!!) My vet came and gave her an exam. He said THIS is a quality foal -- Illinois Here are a couple photos of our filly. She is definitely a looker. Although you cannot see it in the photos, she has gorgeous movement. -- Maine Everyone who sees our little filly (name still in dispute) just loves her.
She's very people-oriented, and I still marvel at how tall she is. Count me I currently own a partbred mare by mountain pearl and absolutely love her to bits. She has great a temperament, an excellent jump and is a pleasure to ride, so ill be catching up to see how his other offspring are getting on all the time. Ireland She has begun training and actually I believe she loves the attention and
is so receptive. She just takes my breath away. She loves people and What an easy, easy job it has been to bring her along, and I've never EVER raised a baby before. Michigan "He's quite a lad. He's going to be a big boy -- he's growing every day.
He has quite a bit of presence. He has a bit of the peacock in him." -- PS our MP filly is doing wonderful. She is great to be around and has
the best temperament. Its hard to believe that something that quiet and hello MP (mountain pearl) i am now the proud owner of one of your offspring!!!!!!!!!!!! Harry aka Mount Orielle!!!!!!!!! he looks alot like you and has a superb jump like you!!!!! he is very special to me so thanks for giving him some of your star qualitys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i dont know much on his dam and i really would like to know what she looks like etc her name is Ballyvourney perhaps your owners know stuff about her. never mind keep producing great foals if my Harrys anything to by you must be very proud!!!! from an extremely happy. -- Ireland (age 16) Hi just wanted to let you know Pearl's daughter
is even more beautiful than I expected. her vet calls her the little princess and people even My race horse husband actually admits to liking this filly and keeps telling me that it is going to be a top jumper. It is amusing to me that one foal can change a mans opinion so quick and have him telling race horse people all about his show horse foal! It was going to be only mine and now it is his...... He even brought a race tracker by to see Meadow. MP does know how to work his magic. -- Canada She is a pretty mover. Then, every once in a while I catch her,
lead her, tie her, clip her and just mess around a little. She is very independent already and does not mind being away from the mare for a while.
The mare gets nervous before she does. She is very tolerant of noisy bags, She's just wonderful. I had a very non-horsey person visiting yesterday, and they just fell in love with her. She's very personable, but also very respectful and well-mannered. -- Nebraska
